EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Junior
Dane Lauber came off the bench to contribute a double-double with 11 points and a career-high 14 rebounds on Saturday afternoon from Koehler Fieldhouse but the Shippensburg University men's basketball team dropped a 64-57 decision to Edinboro at East Stroudsburg's 46th Annual Rotary Classic presented by State Farm.
Shippensburg (3-4) had an uncharacteristically weak performance from beyond the arc, finishing the game just 2-of-22 from three-point range. The Red Raiders had made at least seven three-pointers in its previous six games this season.
Freshman
Dylan Edgar was named to the all-tournament team. One day after posting his second double-double of the season, Edgar contributed six points and four rebounds but missed much of the game with foul trouble. That opened the door for Lauber, who dazzled in his 25 minutes off the bench.
Senior
Jaren Gembe and junior
Jordan Stasyszyn each contributed 10 points and four rebounds to the cause. Sophomore
John Corrigan added seven points and five rebounds off the bench.
SU finishes a stretch of four games in seven days on Tuesday when it travels to Shepherd for an 8 p.m. showdown with the Rams.
