NOTES:
Shippensburg will be competing in the PSAC Tournament for the fourth straight year and the fifth time in seven seasons under head coach
Leanne Piscotty. SU has reached the PSAC Tournament 11 times in the past 20 years and 20 times in its 31-year history but is still seeking its first conference championship.
SU is 3-0 in PSAC quarterfinal matches under Piscotty.
Freshman
Jill Edwards leads the PSAC with 444 kills, hitting .235. She has also totaled 323 digs – achieving 14 double-doubles in 34 matches. Edwards has racked up more kills than any SU player over the last two years and is the first Lady Raider to reach 400 kills in a season since 2007.
Her single-season kill total is the third-best in school history – 11 short of Brittany Roche (2007) and 45 short of Jenn Fuhrman's school record set in 2000.
Junior
Libby Woffindin has been a team leader in virtually every facet of play – dominating on the court and consistently picking up her teammates with her support. She has shattered the school record for block assists in a season, having totaled 113 through 34 matches (the previous record was 93, set by
Kali Antolik in 2007).
Woffindin is also the team's most efficient hitter with at least 500 attempts. She has smoked an impressive 316 kills, hitting .274. The Allentown native is also second on the team with 44 aces, and also has 20 solo blocks. Her blocking is so impressive that she is averaging at least one block per set.
Shippensburg uses a 5-2 approach for its setters and sophomore
Andrea Heimsoth has been outstanding in her role. Heimsoth has totaled 786 assists – more than six per set – and leads the team with 48 service aces. She has also contributed 238 digs – almost two per set – on the defensive end.
Sophomore
Jenny Pry ranks third on the team in kills, having totaled 294 this season (2.3 per set). Pry is also a regular at getting low for digs, totaling 262 (over two per set) and has totaled 31 blocks.
Fellow sophomores
Erin Flick and
Rachel Smicker have developed into integral blockers in the middle for Shippensburg. Flick has totaled 168 kills, 34 aces and 87 total blocks (16 of which are solo). Smicker has 101 kills and an impressive 81 blocks.
