EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The No. 1-ranked Shippensburg University field hockey team capped off its best regular season in school history with a perfect record – earning its 20th-consecutive victory and tying a school-record for wins with a dominating performance over No. 4 East Stroudsburg, 3-0 from Whitenight Field.

Shippensburg (20-0) finished the regular season by out-scoring its opponents 92-17 and totaling an impressive 249 penalty corners. It is just the second undefeated regular season in school history – the 1977 squad posted an 11-0-2 season record.

In Thursday's game, SU out-shot the Warriors 20-8 and had an 8-6 advantage in penalty corners.

The Lady Raiders capitalized on its early momentum with a great individual effort by freshman Bre White. She made a strong run and as she neared the end line, she reversed her stick and sent a shot into the net at the 15-minute mark.

SU took a 2-0 lead into the intermission as sophomore Taylor Jones added a tally with just 1:12 remaining in the first half.

The two teams had plenty of scoring chances in the second half – combining for 10 shots on goal – but the only tally came in the final minute of play. Junior Kristina Taylor scored her team-high 19th goal of the season, with White earning an assist on the play.

Sophomore goalkeeper Ciarra Delost made some splendid stops in the contest, totaling five saves to help Shippensburg achieve its eighth shutout of the season.

UPDATE: Shippensburg will be the No. 1 seed from the Western Division in the PSAC Tournament, which is set to begin next Friday at Bloomsburg. The Lady Raiders will face East Stroudsburg once again, this time on a neutral site. Additional tournament information will be posted to shipraiders.com early next week.
