Dual Meet Results
WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Numerous men's swimmers had a good start in the pool on Saturday afternoon as the Shippensburg University men's swimming team performed well in its season-opening dual meet at West Chester.
Several sophomores had a great opening weekend of competition.
Eric Naylor was SU's pacesetter in the 200-yard freestyle (1:48.99) and 100-yard butterfly (53.69) in addition to swimming in the 200-yard medley relay.
Eddie LaNoue finished second in the 50-yard freestyle (22.37) and posted a solid 100-yard freestyle time of 50.04 seconds behind senior
Tim Smullen (49.05). He also competed in the medley relay with Naylor.
Sean Minford finished second in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:01.79 and got credit for the first-place points in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:02.03. Minford also competed in the 'B' medley relay.

Shawn Robbins finished with a time of 1:30.60. Nyce and Robbins made their season debuts after a year away from the pool. Westley was SU's pacesetter in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 55.98 seconds.
Among the mid-distance and distance events, junior
Joe Lahovski paced SU in the 500-yard (5:19.59) and the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:50.09).
West Chester won the dual meet by a 122-78 margin.
SU returns to action on Tuesday, October 19 at 6 p.m. when the Red Raiders host Bloomsburg from Donald N. Miller Pool.
