Box Score
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. - Junior
Kristina Taylor scored both goals for the No. 1-ranked Shippensburg University field hockey team on Saturday morning, including the game-winner with less than 15 minutes remaining, to propel the Lady Raiders to a 2-1 road victory over No. 6 C.W. Post.
Shippensburg (10-0) once again scored early to establish momentum. Taylor finished a pass from freshman
Bre White at 2:55 to give SU the early edge - marking the eighth time in 10 contests that the Lady Raiders have scored a goal within the first eight minutes of a match.
C.W. Post (6-4) answered in the first half when Kathryn Godshalk redirected a shot at 17:12 to tie the score at 1-1. Despite allowing nine penalty corners and having its goaltender Cortney Colern make 10 saves, the Pioneers played a highly competitive match and fired five shots on goal of their own.
At 55:23, Taylor caged her eighth goal of the season by re-directing a feed from sophomore
Emily Kohlbus. The tally marks the second game-winning goal of the season for Taylor.
Sophomore goaltender
Ciarra Delost made four saves in the win and sophomore
Kayla Harshman was credited with a defensive save - her second in as many games.
Shippensburg will conclude a stretch of four games in seven days on Monday afternoon at Mansfield. The rescheduled match with the Mountaineers will start at 4 p.m.
