SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Shippensburg University women's tennis team got singles victories from senior
Hannah Lolley and sophomore
Cassie Sidone on a chilly Tuesday afternoon but dropped a 7-2 decision to Messiah from the Robb Sports Complex Tennis Courts.
Lolley fought hard at No. 2 singles after dropping her first set to win the second set 6-3 and the tiebreaker 10-7. Sidone won her first set at No. 4 singles 6-2, dropped the second 3-6 but won the tiebreaker 10-3. Earlier, at No. 2 doubles, Sidone and senior
Monica Berardi nearly came away with a victory but dropped the tiebreaker 7-4 after playing to 8-8.
SU returns to action at 3:30 p.m. Thursday from Shepherd.
