LYNDHURST, N.J. – After yielding a hat trick to Kevin Sinic in the first 12 minutes of play on Tuesday night from the Lyndhurst Recreation Complex, the Shippensburg University men's soccer team hunkered down and scored four unanswered goals to extend its school-record winning streak to nine matches with a 4-3 overtime defeat over Felician College.

Shippensburg (12-5) nearly went into halftime trailing by three, but a goal in the 43rd minute by freshman Derrick Roy put the visitors down 3-1 at intermission. It was Roy's fourth goal of the year and was assisted by sophomore Jonathan DiNicola.

In the 83rd minute, SU scored twice in a 43-second span to tie the score. Senior Miles Harriger snuck a shot inside the left post before sophomore Alex Supplee tied the score off a primary assist from freshman Logan Kuhn.

Just four minutes into overtime, sophomore Michael Celius scored his second consecutive game-winning goal and eighth overall this season. He also assisted on both of the second-half goals and has brought his point total to 20 for the season.

Sophomore goalkeeper Clay Sale made one save in the first half and was replaced sophomore Andrew Foran, who registered one save during the second half and overtime in recording his third victory of the season.

During its nine-match winning streak, the Raiders have out-scored the opposition 23-8.

The Red Raiders will conclude the 2010 regular season at 5:30 p.m. Saturday in a PSAC clash with California (Pa.). A victory or tie would clinch SU's first PSAC postseason appearance since 1996.

Before the game, SU will honor its four seniors: Graeme Alexander, Harriger, Dave Rostad and Scott Smith.

Notes: The PSAC playoff race is extremely convoluted, with Shippensburg, Millersville, East Stroudsburg and Slippery Rock all tied atop the standings with 15 points…a win would clinch at least the No. 2 seed for the Raiders, as SU would win any tiebreaker over East Stroudsburg and Millersville by virtue of head-to-head victories…in the event of a loss, SU would need some assistance to guarantee a postseason berth – particularly a tie in the Mercyhurst vs. Gannon match or losses by any two of Millersville, Slippery Rock or East Stroudsburg.
