SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The No. 1-ranked Shippensburg University field hockey team received a pair of first-half goals on Tuesday afternoon from junior
Kristina Taylor in recording its fourth shutout of a PSAC Western Division opponent this season, defeating No. 8 IUP 2-0 from Robb Sports Complex.
Shippensburg (14-0, 5-0 PSAC West) scored just 2:56 into the match when Taylor caged her 12th goal of the season off an assist by freshman

Amanda Strous assisted on Taylor's second goal of the game midway through the opening frame, and the SU defense limited the Crimson Hawks to just two shots on goal during the first 35 minutes of play.
Indiana (7-7, 2-4 PSAC West) featured excellent goaltending from senior Lydia Dolly, who made 14 saves. IUP joined C.W. Post as one of just two opponents this season to limit Shippensburg to less than three goals in a contest. The Lady Raiders have scored at least two goals in every game this season

Ciarra Delost made two first-half saves to achieve Shippensburg's seventh overall shutout of the season. SU has matched its second longest-winning streak in school history (14), set in 2003. The 2005 squad won 16 consecutive matches to open the season. Jane Goss's squads during the 1970s had a streak of 27 consecutive matches without a defeat.
No. 1 Shippensburg will travel to Mansfield on Thursday for a 3 p.m. clash the Mountaineers. Thursday is the rescheduled date for postponements from October 2 and October 11.
