WEST CHESTER, Pa. - The Shippensburg University women's soccer team hit the crossbar and the goalpost in successive shot attempts during the final minutes of its PSAC Eastern Division contest on Saturday afternoon at No. 13 West Chester, but the Lady Raiders could not score during the rally and were victimized by a counter-attack in a 1-0 loss to the Golden Rams.

Shippensburg (0-3, 0-1 PSAC East) saw senior forward Gayle Kuntzmann fire a shot off the crossbar and junior forward Amanda Greenawalt hit the goalpost with the next shot attempt before Golden Ram forward Sarah Oswald got a hold of the ball on the counter attack and subsequently scored with 69 seconds to play.

Graduate goalkeeper Beth Long made nine saves in defeat.

The Lady Raiders return to action on the road at Kutztown this Tuesday. The match will begin at 3 p.m.
