SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Shippensburg University graduate goalkeeper Beth Long became the school's all-time leader for career shutouts on Thursday night from David See Field as the Lady Raider soccer team received goals from four different players in a 6-0 rout of the visiting Seton Hill Griffins.

Long picked up her fourth shutout of the season and has now recorded 23.5 career shutouts to surpass the previous record of 23 set by Meredith Yakscoe-Markle '06, who played every minute of every game during her entire four-year career. On Thursday night, Long needed to make just two simple stops to preserve the victory.

Through 66 career games, Long has compiled a career record of 28-29-5 along with a 1.27 goals-against average, an .836 save percentage and 429 career saves. Yakscoe-Markle finished her 78-game career with a 1.24 goals-against average, an .832 save percentage and 493 career saves.

Shippensburg (3-4-2) got on the board often, and for the second consecutive game it was freshman Katie Leverentz who scored the game-winning goal. The reserve forward took a feed from sophomore Emily Andrew and ripped a shot into the back of the net for her third goal of the season.

The Lady Raiders held a 2-0 lead at intermission after junior Alison Dowdrick scored a goal for the second consecutive game off an assist from Leverentz. Dowdrick also added a goal in the second half to bring her season total to three.

Senior forward Gayle Kuntzmann recorded her fourth and fifth goals of the season during a 56-second span early in the second half. The first of the strikes was the result of a crisp passing play that began with junior Amanda Greenawalt, who touched the ball onto the foot of junior Lisa Findley and eventually Kuntzmann. Sophomore Cassie Armold delivered a long through ball less than a minute later for a run that Kuntzmann finished with another  goal.

Junior Lauren Estrain assisted on Dowdrick's second goal of the game and also sent a corner kick onto the foot of sophomore Katie Klinger in the 89th minute that was effortlessly re-directed into the right corner of the net to conclude the scoring.

The Lady Raiders were in total control, recording 37 shots and totaling 13 corner kicks. Seton Hill (1-6) mustered just eight total shots while goalkeepers Jenna Forzano and Sam Gilarski combined to make 10 saves.

Shippensburg will return to action on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. from David See Field against PSAC Western Division opponent California (Pa.).
