LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Shippensburg University volleyball team finished the weekend with three victories in four contests after earning a pair of wins on Saturday at the Lock Haven Classic. The Lady Raiders won a five-set battle with C.W. Post and later swept Molloy to improve their season record to 4-7.
Set scores against C.W. Post were 26-24, 25-18, 17-25, 24-26 and 15-13. The set scores against Molloy were 25-12, 25-10 and 25-18.
Shippensburg (4-7) took an early two-set lead over the Pioneers before dropping the next two sets to allow C.W. Post to pull even. The Lady Raiders avenged the prior two sets to win the decisive fifth.
Senior
Hannah Sorber paced the Lady Raiders in the win over C.W. Post. She posted 12 kills to just one error. Defensively, She added two solo blocks, two solo blocks and 11 digs.
Against Molloy, senior outside hitter
Colleen Toomey tallied eight kills to just one error offensively and also delivered two solo blocks and nine digs. Senior middle blocker
Kali Antolik added seven kills and a solo block while committing no errors during the three-set match.
The Lady Raiders will return to the court on Friday at IUP when they take part in the first of two PSAC Crossover tournaments. Friday's matches against Slippery Rock and IUP are scheduled for noon and 7:30 p.m. respectively.
