PSAC Day One Results

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. - Juniors Shane Wolter and Drew Hagerich posted NCAA 'B' cut times in the 1,000-yard freestyle to highlight the first day of competition for the Raider swimmers from the 2009 PSAC Swimming Championships hosted by Cumberland Valley High School and California University of Pennsylvania.

Wolter, who entered the tournament among the top six qualifiers in five events, finished fifth with an impressive time of 9:36.03 that was eight seconds faster than his previous season best. Hagerich finished sixth and improved his season-best effort by 10 seconds with a time of 9:41.65.

Sophomore DJ Winterhoff also scored for Shippensburg, finishing in 15th place with a time of 10:03.59. The Raiders completed the event in third place overall, having totaled 29 points.     

Day two of competition at the 2009 PSAC Swimming Championships begins with preliminary qualifying on Friday morning from the natatorium at Cumberland Valley High School.
