EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - The Shippensburg University women's volleyball team had one of its strongest finishes in a match this season on Friday night from Koehler Fieldhouse, winning eight of the final 10 points in the fifth set to record an all-important 3-2 victory on the road at East Stroudsburg.
Shippensburg (13-16, 7-9 PSAC) ends the day in a tie for second place in the Eastern Division with Kutztown, who swept a pair of matches against Cheyney. West Chester remains one game behind both teams as the battle continues for the postseason. The Lady Raiders need just one more victory over the course of its final three matches of the season to clinch a seed in the PSAC tournament.
Set scores of the match were 18-25, 25-18, 25-22, 24-26 and 15-12. The Lady Raiders were also down 8-4 and 10-7 in the final set before their rally.
Shippensburg returns to action tomorrow at 1 p.m. on the road at Lock Haven.
