MANSFIELD, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's soccer team preserved its bid for a PSAC playoff berth on Thursday night from Smythe Park with a 3-2 PSAC Eastern Division victory win over Mansfield. The game was originally scheduled for Wednesday but was postponed due to unplayable field conditions.

Katie Leverentz off a solid cross from senior
Rachael Jeffrey that Leverentz struck from 12 yards out. The goal is Leverentz's fourth of the season.
The Lady Raiders built their lead by a goal in the 57th minute when Jeffrey worked the Mountaineer defense from midfield and scored an unassisted goal, her second of the 2009 campaign.
Mansfield (4-11-1, 2-9-1 PSAC East) scored twice within six minutes to pull even with the Lady Raiders. Mansfield's Courtney Spertzel twice assisted on goals scored by Katelyn Smoker and Katie Parsnik to knot the game at 2-2.
Shippensburg senior
Gayle Kuntzmann scored the game winner at the 84:44 mark into the bottom right corner of the goal to bring home the win for the Lady Raiders. The goal is Kuntzmann's third game winner of the season. Kutzmann's 11 goals this season currently ranks her in the top five in the PSAC.
Graduate goalkeeper
Beth Long added seven saves in the win, pushing her season total to 109 saves. It is the first road victory of the season for the Lady Raiders.
Shippensburg returns to action on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. with a critical PSAC Eastern Division contest against Millersville. In order to make the playoffs, the Lady Raiders face a must-win situation against the Marauders. Kutztown must also defeat Bloomsburg Saturday. Bloomsburg currently holds the fourth and final PSAC East seed in the playoffs. The Lady Raiders will also celebrate Senior Night, honoring seven outgoing players.
