EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - The Shippensburg women's volleyball team dropped a tough 3-2 decision Tuesday night on the road at East Stroudsburg by game scores of 25-17, 15-25, 25-22, 15-25 and 15-11. Shippensburg (10-7, 3-2 PSAC East) is now one-half game behind East Stroudsburg (10-6, 4-2 PSAC East) for third place in the PSAC Eastern Division.
Offensively, freshman
Katie Leitner had a solid game with 15 kills while hitting .375. Fellow freshman
Caitlin Marshall added 9 kills and a .411 hitting percentage while totaling 13 digs, just missing her first career double-double. Juniors
Colleen Toomey and
Hannah Sorber combined for 15 kills.
Defensively, senior libero
Kelsi Hoffman added 29 digs, while fellow senior
Karey Toms delivered 13 digs. Senior setter
Maureen DuVall added 37 assists and 10 digs.
Shippensburg will travel to California (Pa.) to compete in the California Tournament this weekend on Friday and Saturday.
