No. 3 Ranked Lady Raider Field Hockey Rolls To 6-0 Road Victory Over Slippery Rock

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Shippensburg senior forward Kim Davies, who earlier on Tuesday was named womensfieldhockey.com Division II Player of the Week, scored her fifth game-winning goal of the season while senior Dani Haas and junior Jamie Doughty each added a goal and an assist to help the Lady Raiders roll past The Rock, 6-0.

Shippensburg (8-1, 2-1 PSAC West) out-shot Slippery Rock by a 31-4 margin and recorded 19 penalty corner opportunities. Junior Amanda Houser was only required to make two saves for her second shutout in three games and her fourth overall this season.

Davies opened the scoring in the 12th minute with her 11th goal of the season off an assist from Haas. Doughty got in the board at 24:59 off an assist from sophomore Mariah Wooters to extend the lead.

The Lady Raiders pulled away with three more goals in the first half, including two in the final minute. After a goal by freshman Kristina Taylor, Haas delivered her fourth goal of the season with 55 seconds remaining in the half. With only eight seconds remaining in the half, sophomore Laura Wylde delivered a goal off an assist from Doughty.

Wooters rounded out the scoring with 4:05 to play off an assist from junior defender Lois Kaschenbach.

Slippery Rock (2-8, 0-4 PSAC West) received 20 saves in defeat from goaltender Lisa Belcastro.

The Lady Raiders return to action on Saturday at noon in a home matchup with PSAC Western Division opponent Mercyhurst at Robb Sports Complex.
