SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Shippensburg women's volleyball team struggled against unbeaten Lock Haven on Tuesday evening inside Heiges Field House, dropping a 3-0 decision to the Bald Eagles by scores of 25-23, 25-20 and 25-13.
Shippensburg (9-5, 2-1 PSAC East) was only able to muster a .149 hitting percentage against the tall and powerful Lock Haven squad. Junior
Colleen Toomey ripped 10 kills on just two errors and contributed the lone service ace for the Lady Raiders, while junior
Hannah Sorber battled once again and delivered 10 kills and two block assists.

Maureen DuVall tallied 24 assists. Shippensburg fought hard in the opening set and trailed by only one point at 24-23 before the set and the momentum fell in favor of the Bald Eagles.
Lock Haven (13-0, 2-0 PSAC East) was led offensively by Stacey Borgia and Christie Naumann, who each delivered 10 kills. Setter Fabiana Gomez totaled 33 assists.
The loss was the first divisional defeat for Shippensburg since October 17, 2006 - a span of 15 games. The Lady Raiders will look to rebound with another important conference matchup on Thursday night at home against Kutztown that begins at 7 p.m.
