LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Shippensburg women's volleyball team opened its competition this weekend at the Bob Chu Invitational with an impressive four-set victory over Wilmington, marking the team's second victory over the Wildcats this season. Game scores were 26-28, 25-9, 25-17 and 25-20.
Offensively, junior
Colleen Toomey continued her strong play with 14 kills on five errors with eight digs and three service aces. Junior
Kali Antolik once again posted a solid hitting percentage by ripping nine kills on just one error along with a block solo.
Senior setter
Maureen DuVall once again had a stellar performance, recording five kills with no errors while totaling 41 assists and a block solo.
Additional offense came from junior
Hannah Sorber, who delivered eight kills on four errors. Complementing Sorber, freshmen
Libby Woffindin and
Katie Leitner combined for 11 kills.
Defensively, senior libero
Kelsi Hoffman totaled 10 digs and one service ace while freshman
Caitlin Marshall had seven digs. Senior
Karey Toms totaled five digs and served three aces.
On Saturday, the Lady Raiders will play two games - a 10 a.m. match with C.W. Post and a noon contest against Ohio Valley.
