SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Senior guard Alex Jones drained five three-pointers in his final collegiate game Wednesday evening to tie the school record for three-pointers in a season and propel the Red Raiders to a season-ending 72-62 victory over Indiana (Pa.) inside Heiges Field House.

Jones tied the mark set by Matt Markle '88-92, finishing the season 71-of-209 from behind the three-point line. Markle finished the 1990-91 season making 71-of-136 three-point attempts.

Freshman guard Justin Minter led Shippensburg with 18 points, including three trifectas, to mark the first time all season that all five Red Raider starters finished in double figures.

Shippensburg (8-19, 2-10 PSAC West) closed its season on a two-game winning streak by maintaining a lead through the entire second half and draining clutch three-pointers down the stretch. Minter's final three-pointer iced the victory by giving the Red Raiders a seven-point lead with 1:13 to play.

The Red Raiders finished the game making 52 percent of their shots and most importantly, committing a season-low eight turnovers. The last time Shippensburg committed less than 10 turnovers in a game was in a 61-59 home victory over The Rock on January 27, 2007, a span of 35 games.

Wednesday night's contest quickly evolved into a distance-shooting gallery, as the two teams combined for 25 three-pointers and 56 three-point attempts. The two teams entered the game with a combined average of 35.7 percent but finished Wednesday making 45 percent of their three-point attempts.

In addition to the eight combined three-pointers from Kraft and Minter, red-shirt junior guard Ryan Kraft maintained his hot scoring touch by draining four three-pointers en route to 13 points.

Rounding out the starters, red-shirt sophomore center Derrick Graff delivered 12 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals while playing in all 40 minutes, while sophomore guard Brian Oleksiak tied his season-high with 10 points.

IUP (12-14, 4-7 PSAC West) was led by guard Sean Christensen, who matched a career-high with 22 points that included six three-pointers. Center Adeniyi Amadou delivered a career-high 16 rebounds.

Red-shirt freshman Darryl Webb totaled 14 points, five rebounds and four assists for the Crimson Hawks. Webb and Minter have combined for six PSAC Western Division Rookie of the Week awards this season.

Minter capped off his freshman season by scoring at least nine points in 14 of his last 15 games and averaging 15.6 points over the final five games of the season.

Jones, who finished with 17 points, eight assists and four steals, concludes his two-year career at Shippensburg with 603 points in two seasons with the Red Raiders and 1,159 points over his career. The senior guard led Shippensburg with 358 points this season and delivered a career-high 106 assists in his final season with Shippensburg.
