Biography

2008-09 (Junior): Solidified his status as one of the hardest workers in the PSAC and one of the most valuable members of the Red Raiders…appeared in 25 of the team’s games and made 20 starts…finished his junior season with 30 steals…played in an average of 29.4 minutes per game, third-most on the team…converted 75 percent of his attempts from the free-throw line (49-of-65)…also finished the season with 52 assists…scored a season-high 11 points against Pittsburgh-Johnstown and once again at Lock Haven…averaged 6.4 points per game, which was a 3.5 points per game improvement from the previous season…ranked third on the team in steals, third in rebounds, third in field-goal percentage, fourth in blocks, fourth in assists and fourth in free-throw percentage while committing the fewest turnovers among regulars…had multiple assists in 12 games…scored at least one point and had at least one rebound in every game that he played…closed the season with double-digit rebounds in his final four games, including a season-high 15 against Millersville…compiled an average of seven points and 12 rebounds in his last four conference games.

2007-08 (Sophomore): Became an all-around solid playmaker who is always in the thick of the action… is a prototypical team player and one of the conference’s best defenders… has a knack for making big plays off the ball…appeared in all 27 games, making seven starts…averaged 20.6 minutes per game…led the team by shooting 82 percent from the free-throw line…finished third on team with 21 steals…scored a career-high 10 points on two occasions (Slippery Rock on February 23 and Indiana (Pa.) on February 27)…was third on the team in assists with 47…excelled at rebounding from the guard position, finishing third on team with 86…pulled down a career-high 11 rebounds against Edinboro on February 9.

2006-07 (Freshman): Emerged as a member of Shippensburg’s guard rotation and saw limited action…appeared in 21 games off the bench, averaging five minutes per appearance…contributed a season-high two points five times…totaled 14 assists, two blocks and six steals…grabbed 15 rebounds and was 4-of-6 from the field.

Abington High School: Created plenty of mismatches with his 6-5 frame while playing guard for Coach Dave Torresani at Abington High School…displayed his excellent perimeter skills and showed an ability to be a complete basketball player by scoring 10 points per game and averaging six assists and five rebounds per contest…was named Suburban One League Honorable Mention as a junior in 2004-05...listed as the 45th-ranked junior in the state of Pennsylvania by hoopscooponline.com during junior season…was a Suburban One Second Team selection following senior season…an excellent athlete that was also an outfielder on the baseball field…good student who earned a 3.0 GPA.

Born on Aug. 5, 1988...is the son of Kevin and Mary Oleksiak…majoring in management…older brother Kevin has played basketball at the University of North Carolina Greensboro.
