CALIFORNIA, Pa. - The Shippensburg University volleyball team was defeated on Friday night at Hamer Hall in the semifinals of the 2008 PSAC Volleyball Championships by the host Vulcans of No. 16 California (Pa.). Set scores were 25-17, 25-17 and 25-16.

Shippensburg (22-16) was led offensively by junior Hannah Sorber, who totaled seven kills and hit .364. Junior Kali Antolik totaled six kills and two solo blocks, while junior Colleen Toomey had three kills and seven digs.

As of the most recent regional rankings released on Wednesday, Shippensburg was eighth in the Atlantic Region. Last year, eight teams advanced to the Atlantic Regional Tournament, and the Lady Raiders will await the results of the entrants to the national tournament on Monday.
