Taylor Wins Multiple Events But Red Raiders Drop 166-128 Decision To Clarion

Hagerich and Paczesniak also win flights for Shippensburg

CLARION, Pa. - Senior Brian Taylor won the 100 and the 200-yard butterfly events and a total of three Red Raiders won events, but the Red Raiders could not hold off the Golden Eagles of Clarion, falling 166-128 on Saturday.

Taylor completed the 100-yard butterfly in 53.94 seconds, edging sophomore Alan Snyder by a half-second. In the 200 butterfly, Taylor bested senior Kevin Riley by nearly three seconds with a time of 2:00.81.

Junior Drew Hagerich won the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:08.29, defeating Clarion's Garet Weston by a full 11 seconds. Freshman Mitch Paczesniak continued his solid start to his collegiate career by completing the 400-yard IM with a winning time of 4:26.55. Paczesniak bested sophomore teammate Josh Nyce by 44 one-hundredths of a second.

Shippensburg returns to action in three weeks for one its biggest meets of the season. The Patriot Invitational from George Mason University will take place from November 21-23.
