Late Goal Dooms Red Raider Soccer On the Road At Slippery Rock, 2-1

The Shippensburg men's soccer team battled PSAC Western Division opponent Slippery Rock on Saturday afternoon at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium and was deadlocked with The Rock throughout the second half but a late goal in the 88th minute from Patrick Conley resulted in a 2-1 loss for the Red Raiders.

Shippensburg (1-8-2) was the victim of two late goals on Saturday afternoon, as the Red Raiders trailed 1-0 at halftime due to a goal from Conley with just 75 seconds remaining in the half.

Sophomore Matt McNamara was the product of a Shippensburg scoring chance in the 58th minute and capitalized following a foul in the box with a penalty kick conversion that tied the score at 1-1. It was the first collegiate goal for McNamara and Shippensburg's fifth overall this season.

Shippensburg continues its road swing on Tuesday with a 4 p.m. match at Kutztown.
