Cooley Nets First Career Goal As Red Raiders Drop 6-1 Decision To No. 6 Millersville

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Freshman Shannon Cooley scored his first career goal late in the second half off an assist from sophomore Scott Smith as the Red Raiders dropped a 6-1 decision to the No. 6-ranked Marauders of Millersville on Saturday afternoon at David See Field.

Shippensburg (1-11-3, 0-7-2 PSAC East) was able to avoid the shutout with the goal in the 79th minute. Smith send an excellent through ball behind the defense that Cooley ran onto and finished into the back of the net.

Millersville (13-2, 8-0 PSAC East) received two goals from Kyle Loughlin to help sweep the season series from Shippensburg.

Red-shirt senior Brad Patke made eight saves in the contest, while freshman Kyle King saw his first action of the season and made his first career save for the Red Raiders.

Shippensburg will honor Patke, Mark Thompson, Austin Alfonsi and Brad Anderson for Senior Day on Wednesday in the final home game of the season. The Red Raiders will take on Seton Hill at 4 p.m. from David See Field.
