SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Shippensburg volleyball team rebounded from a tough Friday night loss with two solid victories to close out the annual regional crossover tournament on Saturday afternoon from Heiges Field House. The Lady Raiders opened with a five-set victory over Alderson-Broaddus before sweeping NYIT.
Shippensburg (15-13) defeated the Battlers in five sets by set scores of 25-16, 28-26, 18-25, 16-25 and 16-14. Juniors
Hannah Sorber and
Colleen Toomey each ripped a team-high 14 kills while freshman
Katie Leitner had nine kills with just one error. Sorber also added three solo blocks.

Maureen DuVall had 48 assists, senior libero
Kelsi Hoffman led the team with 24 digs and freshman
Caitlin Marshall delivered two service aces to go along with 16 digs. Toomey had another double-double with 13 digs to complement her attacking.
In the second contest, the Lady Raiders defeated NYIT by set scores of 25-17, 25-7 and 26-24. Senior
Karey Toms functioned as a hitter against the Bears and led the team with eight kills, while Sorber and junior
Kali Antolik each contributed four kills in the match.
Shippensburg returns to action next weekend at the Wheeling Jesuit Tournament.
