Morgan Martin joins the Shippensburg University sports information office for the 2025-26 academic year as a graduate assistant.
Martin will assist the office in a variety of important roles – specifically digital media content creation, multimedia and social media -- while also serving as a secondary contact for all 20 intercollegiate athletic teams. She will also help manage office logistics and workflow while serving as an integral member of the gameday operations staff.
She arrives at Shippensburg from Juniata College, where she developed an extensive background in media design, event coordination and strategic messaging as a student employee in the athletic communications office. As a senior, Martin served as the Juniata Assistant (JA) – a high-responsibility role as the lead member of the student staff. She assisted with all aspects of sports information, specifically digital content creation and gameday preparation, while serving as a liaison between the office and other student employees.
Martin balanced her work in sports information with her status as a varsity athlete – she was a captain of the Eagles field hockey team who played in 68 career games during her four years as a defender. She was a full-time starter in each of her final two seasons and ranked second in the Landmark Conference as a senior with nine defensive saves.
Also at Juniata, Martin took part in two prestigious programs. This past summer, Martin was named to the 2025 Division III College Sports Communicators (CSC) Student Program. She attended the CSC workshop in Orlando and attended sessions specifically designed to help individuals explore potential careers in athletics communications while learning directly from current professionals in the field.
Earlier in 2025, Martin was selected to participate in the Women Leaders' Rising Stars mentorship program. This endeavor is a partnership between Women Leaders in Sports and Chi Alpha Sigma (the National College Athlete Honor Society). Martin was one of 40 Chi Alpha Sigma members from across the country selected to attend a series of programs specifically designed for young women pursuing careers in athletics.
In June 2025, Martin was named the head varsity field hockey coach at Biglerville High School. It will mark the beginning of her coaching career and is the latest pursuit at her high school alma mater, at which she was a 12-time varsity letter-winner (four in field hockey, four in basketball, three in track & field, one in softball). Her prep career included York-Adams Interscholastic Athletic Association (YAIAA) Division 4 All Star honors in field hockey and Division 3 All Star honors in basketball.
Martin graduated magna cum laude from Juniata in May 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management and secondary emphases in Communications and Integrated Media Arts.
At Shippensburg, Martin is pursuing a master’s degree in Strategic Communication.
