Emma Monismith enters her second academic year as the lead graduate assistant in the Shippensburg University sports information office in 2025-26.

Monismith is an integral member of the office. She is the primary contact for selected sports at Shippensburg, notably volleyball and softball, while also functioning as a secondary contact for the remaining intercollegiate athletic sports offered by the Raiders.

In 2024-25, Monismith orchestrated all aspects of media relations for the SU Softball team that won the Atlantic Regional Tournament and advanced to the Division II National Championships and was one of two primary contacts for the SU Field Hockey team that reached the Division II National Semifinals.

She is an integral member of the gameday administrative staff, serving as an official statistician for multiple sports – specifically volleyball, soccer, field hockey and softball.

Among the array of her roles in the office include writing post-game recaps, creating game programs, designing numerous graphics, producing digital and social media content, and statistical analysis.

Prior to her appointment as a graduate assistant, Monismith worked for three years as a student employee and intern in the sports information office at her alma mater, Delaware Valley University. Monismith was the athletic department’s lead photographer as a junior and senior and an integral member of the staff, assisting with myriad duties related to the athletics website, social media channels, and publications. She was also the official in-game statistician for volleyball matches.

Working under the tutelage of directors Chris Elliott, Max Manns and Amanda Graham, Monismith developed proficiency as a graphic designer while also filming and curating in-game video highlights. She coordinated and hosted media days for numerous Aggie athletic teams, including photography and the oversight of digital content. She also served as a primary contact for six NCAA Division III Football Championship events hosted by Delaware Valley.

Monismith was awarded a 2023 College Sports Communicators (CSC) grant that allowed her to attend the organization’s annual workshop, held that summer in Orlando. As the office’s lead student worker, Monismith trained and mentored her peers while handling her daily responsibilities.

Stemming back to her time in her native Cumberland County and lasting into her collegiate experience, Monismith has overlapped her sports information career with extensive work and advocacy in the realm of agriculture. Monismith has earned the Future Farmers of America (FFA) American Degree, the organization’s highest honor.

For the last three years, Monismith has served as a press intern for the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, specifically assisting at national and state livestock shows. She utilized her proficiency in photography and digital media to create regular content for the organization’s social media channels.

Monismith also expanded her skills as a writer, generating press releases that were published during the Pennsylvania Farm Show, the Keystone International Livestock Exposition, and the All-American Dairy Show.

In November 2022, Monismith interned at the North American International Livestock Exposition in Louisville, Kentucky. A few months prior, Monismith completed a summer internship at RED 102.3 FM. She assisted the radio station with scheduling and programming, while also helping develop on-air content and handling social media responsibilities.

Monismith graduated summa cum laude from Delaware Valley in May 2024 with a bachelor's degree in Media and Communication. Her many outstanding scholastic accomplishments at Delaware Valley include receiving the English Department’s Achievement Award and the university’s Scholars Award. She also assisted her fellow students, balancing her academic pursuits and her sports information work with roles as a peer writing tutor and a peer mentor.

Monismith is a native of Newville and an alumna of Big Spring High School. She is pursuing a master’s degree in Strategic Communication. Her older sister, Olivia, was a four-year member of the Delaware Valley University softball team.
