Derek Warfel is in his first season as a student assistant on the Shippensburg University volleyball coaching staff in 2025.
Warfel has been active in the sport of volleyball for the past seven years. He is entering his fourth year as a member of the Shippensburg men’s club volleyball team.
Prior to his time at Shippensburg, Warfel played nationally for the Yorktowne Club and for Penn Manor High School. During his time as a Comet, Warfel received First Team All-Star Honors and Third Team All-District honors.
At Shippensburg, Warfel is a member of the Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity, where he served as Vice President during the 2023-24 year. He was also the treasurer on the executive board of IFC during the 2023-24 year.
A native of Lancaster, Pa., Warfel is a senior who is double majoring in accounting and finance.
