Claire Rothermel is in her first year as a graduate assistant in the SU Sports Information office in 2026-27.
Rothermel enters her fourth year overall as a member of the SU Sports Information office after serving as an integral member of the staff for the last three years. During her time as an undergraduate, Rothermel handled myriad roles – specializing in live broadcast and video production. She was essential to the success of Shippensburg’s approximately 150 live events that annually air on the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Sports Digital Network.
A skilled videographer and digital communicator, Rothermel also fulfilled other roles with the sports information office including video editing, highlight production and social media content generation.
In addition to her work with sports information, Rothermel was an active member of Shippensburg University Television (SUTV). She held officer positions for two years, serving as the organization’s sports director during her sophomore and junior year and as its executive producer during her junior and senior year. As the executive producer, Rothermel was the main overseer of SUTV’s weekly broadcasts while managing and instructing a membership group of more than 40 students.
For the last three summers, Rothermel has assisted the Harrisburg Senators (AA minor league baseball affiliate of the Washington Nationals) as a production team member with their gameday video operations at FNB Field. Rothermel has directed live broadcasts and been responsible for multiple essential gameday functions including camera operation, replay production and stadium audio.
Prior to Shippensburg, Rothermel began her collegiate career with two semesters at PennWest-California, where she was active with California University Television (CUTV) under the direction of Gary Smith.
Rothermel earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, and Media (Broadcast Media Production concentration) from Shippensburg in May 2026. She graduated with a minor in marketing and a certificate in ethnic studies.
A native of Millersburg, Rothermel is studying toward a master’s degree in Organizational Development, and Leadership, concentrating in individualized leadership skills.
