Cassie Morrow ’12/’14M began her tenure as the interim director of the Kathryn Hughes Seaber Raiders Academic Center (RAC) for Student-Athletes on Monday, Aug. 24, 2026.
Morrow begins her second tenure in the Seaber RAC this fall after working the last two years as Shippensburg University's Student Success Coordinator. She served the entire campus community as a member of the Office of Retention and Student Success, which is under the direction of associate vice president Dr. Jennifer Haughie and executive director Dr. Felicia Shearer.
The Seaber RAC fulfills an integral, daily role in the retention and academic success for Shippensburg’s student-athletes. Morrow will lead the effort to provide personalized support to Raider student-athletes and work with them to develop realistic goals that will contribute to academic and personal success in college. She will also be asked to identify student-athletes at risk, refer and connect student-athletes to resources, and monitor and record academic progress.
Morrow returned to her alma mater in June 2022 as the Student Success Coach for Student-Athletes. Working with then-director Trejon Dinkins in the RAC, she was tasked with providing intensive, personalized support to SU’s student-athletes. Among her duties included identifying at-risk students and connecting students to resources available on campus.
She will worked with student-athletes to develop realistic goals that will contribute to academic and personal success in college. Also, Morrow developed mental health resources and programming for student-athletes. In addition to those responsibilities, Morrow monitored and recorded progress for students, collected and analyzed data, and planned and facilitateed academic support and developmental programming by collaborating with relevant SU resources.
Prior to her return to Shippensburg, Morrow spent seven years as a school-based Mental Health Therapist with Laurel Life. Among her responsibilities included individual and group therapy sessions for students and regular work with students who have been identified as having a mental health diagnosis. Morrow worked to identify strategies with students including behavioral and resiliency-based interventions and collaborated with treatment teams to identify academic and behavioral goals and solutions for students at risk.
As an undergraduate and graduate student at Shippensburg, Morrow was a member of the women’s soccer team from 2008-13 who served as a team captain as a senior. She was a two-time All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Third Team honoree as a defender for the Raiders. She started in all 77 games in which she appeared, totaling four goals and four assists in her career. Morrow spent the 2014 season as a women’s soccer assistant coach while completing her graduate degree.
Morrow graduated cum laude from Shippensburg in 2012 with a degree in social work and earned her master’s degree in social work from Shippensburg in 2014.
