Jake Lininger ’07 is in his second season as a volunteer assistant with the Shippensburg University wrestling program in 2016-17.
Lininger is able to volunteer time for a couple of days each week to assist the Raiders in the SU wrestling room and is an integral coaching voice for the program.
As a collegiate athlete, Lininger spent his final collegiate season of eligibility with the Raiders in the 2005-06 season. Lininger had a dominant heavyweight season, posting a 34-4 record in which he earned All-America honors with a third-place finish at the NCAA Championships. His impressive campaign included an East Region championship, a second-place finish at the PSAC Championships, 13 victories by fall and a 17-0 dual meet record.
Among his most memorable achievements is recording the fastest pin in school history, recording a victory by fall in just six seconds over a wrestler from Belmont Abbey.
Lininger totaled 101 collegiate victories, having totaled 67 wins at the NCAA Division I level before arriving at Shippensburg as a senior. He wrestled for both Minnesota, where he was a Division I qualifier, and Pittsburgh. As a prep athlete, Lininger competed at Lower Dauphin High School.
A native of Camp Hill, Lininger works as a manufacturing account manager.
