2010-11 (Junior): Excelled for the Raiders in her third season…made her debut in the steeplechase and finished third at the PSAC outdoor championships despite running the event for the first time just two weeks prior at the Paul Kaiser Classic from Seth Grove Stadium…established a new outdoor PR in the 1,500 meters at the Lafayette 7-Way Meet…recorded a new indoor PR in the mile at the Susquehanna Open…qualified for the PSAC indoor championships in the 3K…also competed in the 3K and 10K during the outdoor season.
2009-10 (Sophomore): Stepped up with two clutch performances in distance events at the PSAC outdoor meet during her second season with the Lady Raiders…opened the meet by finishing seventh in the 10K…followed up that performance with a seventh-place finish in the 3K…qualified for the 3K and the 5K at the PSAC indoor championships.
2008-09 (Freshman): Made her debut with the Raider track and field program after a strong performance during the cross country season.
Forest Hills High School: Totaled 10 varsity letters for the Rangers under the guidance of Tom Hunter and Jon Strayer…earned four state medals in track…was a four-time All-Conference and All-District runner in the 1,600 and 3,200 meters…thrived with her school’s 4x800-meter relay squad…graduated on the honor roll…earned “Outstanding Student” award…ran with the Beaverdale Running Club…also played basketball and softball.
Personal: Full name is Sarah Jo Strayer…is the daughter of Larry and Marianne Strayer…majoring in has three siblings: Nadine, Jake and Kristie…brother Jake was an All-American wrestler at Penn State who also competed in track and cross country during high school.
