2011-12 (Junior): Achieved her first PSAC place-winning performance with the Raiders in her third season…placed eighth in the steeplechase at the PSAC outdoor championships…established a 19-second personal best at the conference meet…also ran the mile indoors and the 5K outdoors.
2010-11 (Sophomore): Set several PRs in her second season as a distance runner with the Raiders…qualified once again for the PSAC outdoor championships in the steeplechase…achieved a new PR in the event at the PSAC Championships…hit a lifetime PR in the 3K at the Fred Hardy Invitational…ran the 3K during the indoor season…also competed in cross country for Shippenburg.
2009-10 (Freshman): Debuted with the Raiders as a distance runner after beginning her year competing in cross country for George Mason University…qualified for the PSAC outdoor championships in the 3,000-meter steeplechase…established her outdoor PR at the Paul Kaiser Classic from Seth Grove Stadium…posted an outdoor 5K PR at the Washington & Lee Track & Field Carnival.
Cumberland Valley High School: Totaled 12 varsity letters as a cross country, track and field and swimming student-athlete with the Eagles…her distance coach was Skip Springman...graduated as a member of the National Honor Society and the National Foreign Language Honor Society.
Personal: Full name is Mary Katherine Wiechelt…is the daughter of Tom and Cathy Wiechelt…majoring in biology…has a sister, Suzy, who was a four-year swimmer at Shippensburg and graduated in 2009, and a brother, Tom, who previously wrestled for Shippensburg.
