* Emma is a junior athletically while a senior academically. She was credited with a medical redshirt seasons indoors in 2011-12 and redshirted outdoors in 2012-13.

2012-13 (Junior): Qualified for competition in three events indoors during her third season with the Raiders…achieved PSAC qualifying times in the mile, 3K and 5K…did not compete outdoors…emerged as SU’s No. 3 cross country runner, earning All-PSAC honors with a ninth-place finish and All-Atlantic Region honors with a 12th-place finish…was a Top-75 finisher at the 2012 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships.

2011-12 (Sophomore): Placed in the 5K for the Raiders at the PSAC Outdoor Championships…narrowly missed a place-winning performance in the 3K, finishing ninth…was also a PSAC indoor qualifier in the 3K and 5K…established a new 5K personal best outdoors at Bucknell…broke through as a scoring runner in cross country as well, serving as the team’s No. 6 runner during the postseason.

2010-11 (Freshman): Served as a distance runner in her debut season with the Raiders…qualified for the PSAC outdoor meet in the 3K and the 5K…established her 3K outdoor PR at the Paul Kaiser Classic from Seth Grove Stadium and her 5K PR at the PSAC Championships…ran just once in the 3K during the indoor season and was granted a medical redshirt indoors.

Hershey High School: Totaled 12 varsity letters for the Trojans under coaches Al Fricke and Kevin Stover…was a four-time Mid-Penn and district medalist…thrived in the 1,600 and 3,200 meters…achieved a PIAA state medal…finished as a four-time state qualifier in cross country…won a district medal as the team’s No. 1 runner…rewarded with a Coaches Award and the Tim Russel Award…also received a Mid-Penn “All-Star” nomination as a senior in cross country…earned Women’s Civic Club and Brain Busters scholarships.

Personal: Full name is Emma Kathryn Shank…is the daughter of Scott and Deborah Shank…majoring in exercise science with a minor in biology…has two brothers, Caleb and Josiah, and a sister, Kaitlyn, who competes in cross country and track at Haverford.
