2011-12 (Freshman): Performed well as an 800-meter specialist for the Raiders in her debut season…exceled indoors, placing fourth at the PSAC championships with a sub-2:20 time…ran the opening leg of the 4x800-meter relay that placed third indoors…was also a PSAC outdoor qualifier.
Elk Lake High School: Earned three varsity letters for the Warriors under coach Marc Weisgold…won two PIAA state medals in the 400 meters…placed sixth as a senior…twice finished as a district runner-up in the 400 meters…also competed in volleyball and cheerleading.
Personal: Full name is Cassie Marie VanEtten…is the daughter of Karen VanEtten…majoring in biology with a focus on pre-chiropractic work…has four siblings who are all involved in athletics, Kylie, Kati, Jennifer and Julie.
