2016-17 (Junior): Achieved her first individual scoring performance at the PSAC Championships in her third season with the Raiders…placed 20th in the 100-yard breaststroke after reaching the ‘C’ final in the PSAC Championships…also competed individually in the 50-yard freestyle and the 200-yard breaststroke at the PSAC Championships…recorded both of her season bests in breaststroke events at the Patriot Invitational…notched a collegiate best in the 50-yard freestyle at the PSAC Championships.
2015-16 (Sophomore): Maintained her role as a versatile swimmer for the Raiders in her second season, specializing in breaststroke events…competed individually in the 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke, 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard IM at the PSAC Championships, posting Top 25 finishes in both breaststroke events…notched her season bests in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard breaststroke at the Patriot Invitational…recorded a season best in the 200-yard breaststroke in the Bomber Invitational…ranked third among Raider swimmers in the 100-yard breaststroke.
2014-15 (Freshman): Debuted as a breaststroke swimmer for the Raiders in her first season…competed in the 100-yard breaststroke, 200-yard breaststroke and 50-yard freestyle at the PSAC Championships…posted a Top 20 finish in the 100-yard breaststroke…achieved both of her personal bests in breaststroke events at the conference championships…also competed in the 200-yard IM.
Schuylkill Valley High School: Was a five-time PIAA ‘AA’ state medalist in relay competition for the Panthers under coach Jim Burkman…specialized in breaststroke swims, earning individual Top 3 district finishes as a sophomore and senior…earned state medals in the 200 medley, 200 free and 400 free relays as a junior and in both 200 relays as a senior…also achieved multiple All-League honors for her relay work…also played field hockey…posted PRs of 1:09.33 in the 100 breaststroke and 2:19.34 in the 200 IM.
About Strause: Full name is Sarah Olivia Strause…is the daughter of Ronald and Melissa Strause…majoring in biology with a concentration in pre-optometry…has a brother, Nathan, and a sister, Jenna.
