2016-17 (Junior): Achieved two individual scoring performances for the Raiders in her third season with the team…reached the ‘C’ finals of the 100-yard butterfly and the 200-yard butterfly, placing 17th and 20th respectively…also competed individually in the 200-yard IM and the 200-yard backstroke at the PSAC Championships…contributed to an All-PSAC third-place finish with the 200-yard medley relay at the PSAC Championships…swam a collegiate best in the 100-yard butterfly at the Patriot Invitational that ranks fifth all-time in school history…achieved season bests in the 200-yard backstroke and 200-yard IM at the Patriot Invitational…set a season best in the 200-yard butterfly at the PSAC Championships.
2015-16 (Sophomore): Maintained a role as a versatile swimmer for the Raiders in her second season with the team…reached the ‘B’ finals of the 100-yard butterfly at the PSAC Championships, finishing 11th overall…competed individually in the 200-yard IM, 100-yard backstroke and 200-yard backstroke at the PSAC Championships, posting Top 20 finishes in all three events...posted season bests in all four of her individual swims at the conference championships.
2014-15 (Freshman): Exceled in the backstroke events during her debut season with the Raiders…notched the second-best time in school history in the 100-yard backstroke with a performance recorded at George Mason’s Patriot Invitational…posted a 15th-place individual finish in the 100 backstroke at the PSAC Championships…contributed to a pair of relays at the PSAC Championships, including a sixth-place finish in the 400-yard medley relay…competed individually at the PSAC Championships in the 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard backstroke and the 200-yard IM…achieved season PRs in the individual medley events at George Mason and Ithaca, respectively…recorded season PR in 200 backstroke at Ithaca.
Southern Lehigh High School: Swam for the Spartans and head coach John Neumann…earned All-State honors in the 200 individual medley and with relays…high school placed fifth in Pennsylvania in 2013…named the ‘AA’ Swimmer of the Year in the Lehigh Valley…placed third at the PIAA Championships with her school’s 200 medley relay…achieved two District Championships as an individual swimmer and six with relays…was a member of the Eastern Zone All Star Team...posted top times of 59.09 seconds in the 100-yard backstroke, 2:09.75 in the 200-yard IM and 53.73 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle.
About Rodriguez: Full name is Rhyan Michele Rodriguez…is the daughter of Gerald and Denise Rodriguez…majoring in social work while seeking a minor in disability studies…has two siblings, Raechel and Reese…father Gerald was a two-time PIAA state champion wrestler who was ranked at No. 1 in the United States in 1977.
