Biography
2010-11 (Junior): Continued an important role as a freestyle swimmer for Shippensburg, specializing in sprints…placed eighth in the 200-yard freestyle, 10th in the 50-yard freestyle and 15th in the 100-yard freestyle at the PSAC Championships…contributed to the 200-yard freestyle relay that placed third, the 800-yard freestyle relay that placed fifth, the 400-yard freestyle relay that placed seventh and the 200-yard medley relay that placed eighth at the PSAC meet…swam the second leg of the 200-yard freestyle relay squad that broke the school record in a time trial at the PSAC meet with a time of 1:35.28…earned honorable mention All-America honors at the NCAA Championships with a 13th-place finish on the 800-yard freestyle relay squad and a 16th-place finish on the 400-yard freestyle relay squad…individually competed in the 50, 100 and 200-yard freestyle at the NCAA Championships…her season PR in the 50-yard freestyle of 24.14 seconds ranks fifth in school history and her season PR in the 200-yard freestyle of 1:55.19 ranks seventh in school history.
2009-10 (Sophomore): Maintained her presence as a dominant sprint freestyle competitor in her second season with the women’s swim team…individually placed in all three short freestyle flights at the PSAC Championships, including an eighth-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle (1:58.69), an 11th-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (53.54) and a 13th-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (24.64)…earned All-American honors with SU’s 800-yard freestyle relay after an 11th-place finish at nationals (7:41.46)…contributed to four of SU’s five relays at the PSAC meet, including a fifth-place effort with the 400-yard freestyle unit…posted SU’s second-fastest times of the season in the 50 and 100-yard freestyles and the team’s third-fastest time of the year in the 100-yard butterfly…improved her personal bests in all three freestyle flights in which she competed.
2008-09 (Freshman): Made an immediate impact as a sprint freestyle swimmer in her first collegiate season… earned All-American status by setting the new school record in the 200-yard freestyle relay at the NCAA Division II National Championships (1:35.92)…eclipsed a 15-year-old record with the feat…individually placed twice and also swam four relays at the conference championships…finished 13th in the 100-yard freestyle (54.34) and 16th in the 200-yard freestyle (2:00.26)…swam the second leg on the 200-yard freestyle relay that placed fifth (1:37.88) and the 400-yard freestyle relay that placed sixth (3:35.52)…served as the third leg of the 800-yard freestyle relay squad that placed sixth (7:55.85)…also contributed to the 400-yard medley relay team that finished eighth (4:02.32)…posted the team’s third-best time in both the 50-yard freestyle (24.55) and the 100-yard freestyle (53.95) and finished with the team’s fifth-best time in the 200-yard freestyle (1:59.62).
Mt. Pleasant Area High School: Four-year letterwinner…twice finished fourth in the 50-yard freestyle… was a three-time PIAA state qualifier and among the state’s Top 8 swimmers in the 50-yard freestyle…finished as a four-time WPIAL qualifier…won four letters in softball… named a two-time All-Section catcher…also played soccer during her high school career.
