2022 – 200 Breast (22nd), 100 Breast (24th)
2023-24 (Junior): Recorded one individual scoring effort for the Raiders at the PSAC Championships… achieved a season best of 2:31.03 in the 200-yard breaststroke, placing 22nd overall… also competed in the 100-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard IM… swam a season best in the 100 breast with a time of 1:08.81… ranked fifth among Raiders in both breaststroke events.
2022-23 (Sophomore): Recorded two individual PSAC place-winning times at the PSAC Championships… placed 22nd in the 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard breaststroke… swam a personal best in the 200-yard IM at the championship meet… finished second among Raiders in the 200-yard breaststroke and third in the 100-yard breaststroke.
2021-22 (Freshman): Recorded two individual PSAC place-winning times during her debut season as a Raider…placed 22nd in the 200-yard breaststroke and 24th in the 100-yard breaststroke at the PSAC Swimming Championships… her time in the 100-yard breaststroke was a new season best… also represented the Raiders in the 200-yard IM at the conference meet.
Panther Valley High School: Totaled four varsity letters for the Panthers under head coach Liz Pinkey…competed at the club level with Tamaqua Blue Waves under Pinkey…was a two-time PIAA State Championships qualifier in the breaststroke…finished as a three-time District Championships runner-up in the 100-yard breaststroke and placed third in the event as a senior…won three Schuylkill League titles in the 100-yard breaststroke…named three times to the Schuylkill League All-Area Team…was an Eastern zone qualifier as a sophomore…was a member of the distinguished honor roll…also competed in track & field.
About Newton: Full name is Emily Michelle Newton…is the daughter of Brian and Sharon Newton…majoring in Psychology…has a sister, Molly.
