Anna Kinard, a recent May 2011 graduate of Shippensburg, is assisting the swimming programs as a volunteer this season.
In the competitive arena, Kinard qualified for PSAC Championships in several events over multiple seasons. With the Raiders she achieved her lifetime best performances in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle events along with the 100 and 200-yard backstroke.
As a senior she contributed to the 400-yard freestyle relay squad that reached the awards podium at the PSAC Championships. Kinard was an incredible leader for the swim team and her fellow student-athletes.
Kinard, a native of Dallastown, spent two years as the president of Shippensburg’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and was a co-chair of the PSAC’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. In April 2011, Kinard was honored by the university with the Raider Legacy honor – an award presented to the individual who “best embodied the spirit and core values” of Shippensburg University.
