Biography
2009-10 (Junior): Made a breakthrough with an outstanding season of competition in her third year with the Lady Raiders…set a new school record in the mile freestyle at the Zippy Invitational, breaking the five-year-old record of her then-coach Erin Goodhart with an effort that was 27 seconds faster than her previous career best…achieved three All-America honors at the NCAA National Championships, including Top 16 finishes in the 1,000 and mile freestyle events along with an 11th-place finish with the 800-yard freestyle relay squad…posted individual Top 5 finishes in three events at the PSAC Championships, including a runner-up time in the mile freestyle (17:22.41), a fourth-place turn in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:23.12) and a fifth-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle (5:07.67)…contributed to fifth-place team finishes in the 400 and 800-yard freestyle relays at the PSAC Championships…posted the team’s fastest time in the 100-yard butterfly as the schools only sub-minute finisher (58.43) at the Zippy Invitational in addition to her prowess in the three mid-distance and distance freestyle events…improved her personal bests in all of her major freestyle events by at least 15 seconds.
2008-09 (Sophomore): Improved her all-around ability with success in various events during her second full season with the Lady Raider swim team…placed twice at the conference championships…earned fifth place in the 1,650-yard freestyle (17:53.05) and 11th place in the 500-yard freestyle (5:13.52)…both times were the team’s season-best in the respective flights…swam the opening leg of the 800-yard freestyle relay that placed sixth (7:55.85)…posted the second-fastest team time for the season in the 200-yard freestyle (1:57.31) and the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:53.45) as well as the third-fastest team time in the 100-yard butterfly (1:01.36) and the 200-yard butterfly (2:17.65)…compiled the fifth-fastest team time in the 100-yard freestyle (54.99).
2007-08 (Freshman): Became one of the top threats in freestyle races after her debut season…solid all-around athlete who competes in various events…held second-best team times in both the 500-yard freestyle (5:20.14 at the Patriot Invitational) and the 1000-yard freestyle (11:07.86 versus Clarion)…also owned third-best team time in the 200-yard freestyle after a 1:59.96 finish at the Patriot Invitational… excelled in the butterfly events, notching the second-best team time in both the 100-yard (59.93 seconds) and the 200-yard butterfly events (2:15.35) at the Patriot Invitational…competed in the 100-yard fly at the PSAC Championships, earning a ninth-place finish with a time of 1:00.76.
Personal: Full name is Amy Sue Fisher…is the daughter of John and Darlene Fisher…majoring in elementary education with a focus on early childhood.
