Cassie Armold joins the SU women’s soccer coaching staff in 2014 as a part-time assistant coach.
Armold was a two-time All-PSAC performer for the Raiders from 2008-12, earning Third Team honors in her final two seasons. She started 77 career games at Shippensburg and managed four goals and four assists despite a consistent presence as the team’s steadiest defender.
Save for the 2010 season in which she had to take a medical redshirt after four games, Armold did not miss a game for the Raiders – starting all 73 of the team’s games spanning the 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2012 campaigns.
Her coaching assistance with the Raiders will focus on defense and the midfield.
A native of Carlisle, Armold graduated cum laude in August 2012 with a bachelor of social work. She completed her athletic eligibility in the fall of 2012 while beginning her master’s studies. Armold earned her master of social work in May 2014.
