Carolyn Smith is in her second season as a part-time assistant coach with the SU women’s soccer staff in 2016.
Smith aids head coach Rob Fulton with the team’s game-day preparations and provides assistance with practice duties as well as recruiting and scouting.
In 69 career contests for the Raiders from 2011-14, Smith and was an integral leader for the team. She served as a senior captain who started in 36 games over her final two seasons. Smith scored five career goals – including three game-winners. Two of her game-winning goals were overtime golden goals.
Following her soccer career, Smith also competed with the track & field teams during her senior year, running sprints. She also served as a student support assistant in the office of Academic Support Services for Student-Athletes under the direction of Kurt Dunkel and was active with SU’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
A native of Westminster, Md., Smith earned her bachelor of science in psychology with a minor in coaching in May 2015. She is currently seeking a master of science in counseling, concentrating in college student personnel.
