Shippensburg University Athletics

2011 (R-Junior): Was an All-PSAC Third Team selection as a defender in her fourth season with the team…one of just two players on the team to start all 18 games on the season…finished with five shots including two on goal…a key component to an SU defense that allowed just 21 goals, tied for the second-fewest in a single season.

2010 (Junior): Medical redshirt season…made four starts and scored one goal before having to bow out due to injury.

2009 (Sophomore): Was one of Shippensburg’s most valuable and integral players in her second year with the program…finished the year as one of just five players to start in every game…stabilized the midfield with solid defensive play…scored a goal in a road game at Bloomsburg…recorded assists against ESU, Seton Hill and Shepherd…totaled 11 shots on goal during the season.

2008 (Freshman): Immediately contributed in her first season with the team…was the only freshman to start in all 20 of the team’s games and one of just five players overall…solidified the midfield with her excellent field vision…scored her first career goal in the final game of the season at nationally-ranked West Chester…recorded an assist in a home victory over Edinboro…fired 12 total shots on the season…registered three shots on goal in addition to her tally.

Carlisle High School: Named Second-Team All Mid-Penn following her junior season and was a Mid-Penn Champion in 2005…received Honorable Mention on the All-Sentinel team in 2006 and was a Patriot Big II selection after her junior year…won three letters for the Bison under head coach Greg Clippinger in the Mid-Penn Commonwealth Division…participated for club team Red Land Wild Bunch under Nevin Shenk and Michael Fratantz…is a member of the National Honor Society…also competed in cross country.

Personal: Full name is Cassandra Leigh Armold…is the daughter of James and Sandra Armold…graduated with a degree in social work…now seeking a Master’s degree in social work.
