Shippensburg University Athletics

2013 (Junior): Started all 17 games on defense…picked up a career-high 14 ground balls and recorded three draw controls…totaled four groundball pickups vs. Seton Hill…also picked up multiple ground balls vs. Slippery Rock and West Chester.

2012 (Sophomore): Served as a starting defender for the Raiders throughout the season…made 15 starts…appeared in all 17 games…did not record any points…tallied nine groundballs, five draw controls and a pair of caused turnovers.

2011 (Freshman): Appeared in 10 games for the Raiders during her debut season with the team…made starts in six of the team’s final seven contests…picked up five groundballs…recorded two caused turnovers.

Cumberland Valley High School: Earned three letters under head coach Carol Venet at Cumberland Valley…registered three goals, two assists and 41 ground balls as a senior…named a 2010 Mid Penn Conference All Star…competed for club team Lancaster Area X-Treme Team…also swam and played field hockey.

Personal: Full name is Sarah Elizabeth Burkarth…is the daughter of Richard and Carol Burkarth…majoring in communication/journalism with a focus on public relations and a minor in technical and professional communications…has a brother, Matt.
