Jenny Wirth is in her first season as an assistant women’s lacrosse coach at Shippensburg University in 2017.
 
She assists head coach Nicole Miller with the team’s game-day preparations and provides assistance with practice duties as well as recruitment and scouting.
 
Wirth also works as a sports performance coach at Power Train Sports & Fitness in Carlisle, Pa. She is a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and a USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach (USAW-L1SP). Wirth is also certified as a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer.   
 
In addition to her role at Shippensburg, Wirth has been a coach for the Pittsburgh Premier Lacrosse Club for more than a year, where she develops practices and implements game plans with the team. Previously, Wirth served as the head junior varsity girl’s lacrosse coach at Peters Township in 2015.
 
Among her extensive work experience in strength and conditioning includes service as a sports performance coach at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex, where she developed personalized programs for athletes of all ages. Wirth also assisted in occupational therapy at the UPMC Centers for Rehab Services and worked as a strength and conditioning intern at the University of Pittsburgh.
 
Her collegiate playing experience came at Edinboro University, where she was a four-year letter-winner from 2011-14. A veteran of 59 career games with the Fighting Scots, Wirth played primarily in the midfield and totaled 47 goals and 95 draw controls among her career statistics. She was a four-year Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Scholar-Athlete and a two-time Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Roll recipient.
 
A native of Pittsburgh, Wirth graduated magna cum laude from Edinboro in 2014 with a bachelor of science in health and physical education – human performance while also obtaining a minor in athletic coaching.
