2012-13 (Freshman): Competed as a thrower for the Raiders in her debut season…qualified for the PSAC Indoor Championships in the weight throw and the PSAC Outdoor Championships in the hammer throw…achieved her personal best in the hammer at the outdoor conference meet and in the shot put at the Paul Kaiser Classic…recorded her personal best in the weight throw at Lehigh.
Conestoga High School: Totaled five varsity letters with the Pioneers…coached as a senior by former SU thrower Margaret Merlie…set school records in the javelin and the shot put…named a MVP three times…also played basketball and softball.
Personal: Full name is Samantha Anne Nelson…is the daughter of Chris and Suzanne Nelson…majoring in mathematics…has a brother, Chris, who throws for the SU men’s track & field team.
