2012-13 (Sophomore): Contributed to a pair of PSAC place-winning performances in the 4x800-meter relay during her second season with the Raiders…placed third indoors and seventh outdoors….established a new outdoor best in the 800 meters at the Millersville Metrics…was an PSAC qualifier indoors both at 800 meters and in the mile as well as outdoors at 800 meters and 1,500 meters… serving as the cross country team’s No. 7 runner at both the NCAA Atlantic Region and National Championship races…also served as a Top-30 finisher at the PSAC Championships, where she served as SU’s No. 6 runner.
2011-12 (Freshman): Was a PSAC outdoor qualifier in the 1,500 meters and 3K and a PSAC indoor qualifier in the mile and 3K during her freshman season…finished 10th outdoors in the 3K…named the PSAC Women’s Cross Country Freshman of the Year after placing 25th at the PSAC Championships and serving as the team’s No. 5 runner at both the NCAA Atlantic Region and NCAA National Championship races during the postseason.
Carlisle Area High School: Earned eight varsity letters while competing for the Thundering Herd under former SU assistant track coach Ed Boardman…totaled three letters for track and one for basketball…competed on the varsity cross country team for four years while serving as a captain both her junior and senior seasons…twice qualified for states in cross country as an individual, and once as part of a team…earned three Mid-Penn Conference medals and two District 3 medals…also played soccer…was a member of the National Honor Society…received four academic letters and a District 3 academic letter.
Personal: Full name is April Nicole Schlusser…is the daughter of Warren and Cheryl Schlusser…majoring in marketing with a minor in psychology…has an older brother, Shawn, who graduated from Shippensburg in 2011.
