Danville Area High School: Haney totaled nine varsity letters in cross country and track for the Ironmen under head coach Jeff Brant. A team captain in both cross country and track, she was a four-time All-Heartland Athletic Conference First Team selection in cross country and an All-Conference First Team performer at 3,200 meters in her senior season. Haney was also a member of four District 4 championship teams in cross country. Individually, she was a district medalist at 1,600 and 3,200 meters, finishing second as a senior. She also participated in swimming.
 
Personal: Emily Grace Haney is the daughter of Charles and Becky Haney. Her major is undeclared. She has a brother, Charles Haney IV, and three sisters, Sarah, Leah, and Anna.
