2011 (Junior): In her third season as a Raider, Fornshell competed in three races. Fornshell set a 6K collegiate best in her final race of the year, placing second in the Go Fast River Run from Lock Haven with a time of 23:25. She was also the team’s No. 9 runner at the Piper Alumni Invitational on SU’s home course and the Division II Challenge held at Kutztown. During the indoor track season, Fornshell was a conference qualifier in the 800 meters and the mile.
2010 (Sophomore): Fornshell ran in two races for the Raiders, posting a 4K PR at the Dickinson Invitational with a time of 15:41. She later ran a time of 23:59 in the 6K at the Gettysburg Invitational, as the team’s No. 2 runner. During the track season, Fornshell performed well in mid-distance events, placing sixth in the mile at the PSAC indoor meet and eighth in the 800 meters at the PSAC outdoor meet.
2009 (Freshman): Fornshell completed a productive debut season for Shippensburg, competing in five meets including the PSAC Championships. She recorded a collegiate PR of 16:08 for the 4K in the season-opening Alumni Meet. Her best 6K effort came at the Paul Short Invitational, where Fornshell finished with a time of 23:43. On two occasions, Fornshell was the team’s No. 6 runner (Mansfield, Gettysburg). Fornshell finished her debut season as the team’s No. 9 runner at the PSAC meet.
Downingtown East High School: Fornshell earned 11 varsity letters under coaches George Read and Pete Ramsay. She totaled six state medals between indoor and outdoor track and recorded splits of 59.3 in the 400 and 2:14 in the 800.
Personal: Ashley Lynne Fornshell is the daughter of William Todd Fornshell and Donna Yannelli. She is majoring in marketing.
